Perfect Posture: What is it?

postureHave you ever noticed that pictures showing the “perfect posture” are always drawings?  We are all different and have compensated to balance our posture for good or bad.  The question is  why is “bad posture” bad for your health and what can be done about it?

Standing or sitting in positions that put strain on your spine increase wear on the joints and soft tissues of the spine.  There is an old saying, “practice makes permanent” and in this case, once the damage is done it is permanent.  On the other hand, if you do not improve your posture, your posture will continue to change for the worse.

There are several, simple postural exercises that take very little time but are powerful tools in helping to change your posture, strengthen your core and improve your health.   Although chiropractic care is an important part of changing posture, I am committed to sharing these exercises with anyone interested, even if you are not interested in being adjusted.

For more information on these simple tools, call today to learn how these exercises and/or chiropractic care can benefit your health.
